The skin is not only the largest organ in our body, but it is also the most visible. As the first thing people notice about a person's appearance and health, the skin is extremely vital for us. Dermatology specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of skin, hair, nails, body portals (such as the oral mucosa), and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).

The Dermatology Outpatient Clinic at the Cyprus Central Hospital is an active outpatient dermatology clinic, open 6 days a week (except Sundays). The most common conditions in dermatology are vitiligo, Behcet's disease, Hyperhidrosis, burns, hives, hair loss, allergic skin diseases and similar skin conditions. In addition to these conditions, the outpatient dermatology clinic also offers Botox treatments for cosmetic purposes.

We offer a full range of common dermatological examinations, tests, and treatments, as well as invasive cosmetic procedures, for those who visit our outpatient clinic for skin conditions.

Invasive cosmetic procedures that we offer at our Dermatology Outpatient Clinic are as follows;

  • Intralesional injection; alopecia (hair loss, alopecia barbae), keloid (overgrowth of scar tissue)

  • Diagnostic and therapeutic (punch biopsy) skin biopsies,

  • Medical and surgical treatment of nail diseases and disorders,

  • Curettage and cautery,

  • Determination of Demodex density by punch biopsy technique,

  • Electrocautery,

  • Cryosurgery (the use of extreme cold to destroy tissue for therapeutic purposes),

  • Botox for sweating and cosmetic use,

  • Wood's lamp examination to assist in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of fungal diseases, vitiligo, bacterial skin infections and discoloration due to scars,

  • Dermoscopy which refers to skin surface microscopy to examine moles and other pigmented skin lesions.

Even if your skin condition doesn't cause any serious problems, you should take it seriously. If the skin condition or skin problem you're complaining about is constantly drawing attention to itself, negatively impacting you, and affecting your confidence, you can seek help from a dermatologist and get safe treatment.
